Frequently Asked Questions

♦️What services does Empowher Health & Wellness provide?

Empowher Health & Wellness provides telehealth-based care focused on women’s health, including reproductive and sexual health, birth control management, perimenopause and menopause care, hormone management, medical weight management, and select wellness therapies when medically appropriate.

♦️Do you accept insurance?

Empowher Health & Wellness is a self-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged through a membership plan.

Patients may choose to use insurance independently for eligible prescriptions, laboratory testing, or other outside services when applicable.

♦️Do I have to become a member?

No. Membership is completely optional.

Patients may choose either:

  • Pay-per-visit care

  • A monthly Empowher membership for ongoing support

Membership may be a better value for patients who require regular follow-up, medication management, or ongoing monitoring.

♦️What is included in a membership?

Membership benefits vary by plan and may include follow-up visits, medication management, lab review, treatment-plan adjustments, secure non-urgent messaging, and ongoing support.

Prescription medications, compounded medications, laboratory fees, supplements, pharmacy charges, and shipping costs are not included unless specifically stated.

♦️Is the initial consultation included in my membership?

No. New-patient consultations are billed separately.

The initial consultation allows time for a complete medical history, symptom review, medication review, risk assessment, and development of an individualized treatment plan.

♦️How does telehealth work?

Appointments are completed through a secure telehealth platform.

Before your appointment, you may be asked to complete intake forms, provide your medical history, upload recent laboratory results, and submit other information needed for your evaluation.

You will then meet with your provider virtually from a private location.

♦️Can all appointments be completed by telehealth?

Many services can be provided through telehealth. However, certain symptoms, conditions, medications, examinations, or legal requirements may require an in-person evaluation or referral to another healthcare professional.

Your provider will let you know if in-person care is needed.

♦️Are prescriptions guaranteed?

No.

A medical consultation does not guarantee that a specific medication, hormone, weight-loss medication, peptide, or other treatment will be prescribed.

Treatment recommendations are based on your individual medical history, symptoms, examination requirements, laboratory results when applicable, potential risks, and clinical appropriateness.

♦️Do you prescribe hormone replacement therapy?

Hormone therapy may be considered for appropriate patients experiencing symptoms related to perimenopause, menopause, or other hormone-related concerns.

Treatment is individualized and may require laboratory testing and ongoing monitoring.

♦️Do you offer testosterone therapy for women?

Testosterone therapy may be discussed when clinically appropriate and within applicable prescribing requirements.

Treatment is never guaranteed and requires individualized evaluation, informed consent, appropriate monitoring, and follow-up.

♦️Do you offer medical weight-loss treatment?

Yes.

Weight-loss medications are prescribed only when medically appropriate.

Medical weight-management visits may include a review of medical history, weight-related concerns, nutrition and lifestyle factors, previous weight-loss attempts, and medication options when appropriate.

Prescription weight-loss medications are not included in the cost of your visit or membership.

♦️Can I use my insurance for laboratory testing or prescriptions?

Possibly.

Although Empowher Health & Wellness does not bill insurance for office visits, your insurance may cover certain outside laboratory tests or prescription medications depending on your individual plan.

Coverage is determined by your insurance company and is not guaranteed.

♦️What is your cancellation policy?

Patients should cancel or reschedule appointments as early as possible.

Late cancellations and missed appointments will be subject to a fee. Specific cancellation and no-show terms are provided at the time of scheduling and in patient policies.

♦️Can I cancel my membership?

Yes.

Memberships may be canceled according to the terms of the membership agreement.

Patients should review the cancellation policy before enrolling, including any notice requirements and when the final membership payment will occur.
