Hi, I’m Brandy, a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Empowher Health & Wellness.
Brandy Ponder, MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC
My healthcare career began in 2012, when I earned my Associate Degree in Nursing from Connors State College and began working as a registered nurse in medical-surgical nursing. In early 2013, I transitioned into Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care, where my passion for women’s health truly began to grow.
In 2014, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern State University. As I continued caring for women and families, I knew I wanted to expand my role and provide more comprehensive care throughout all stages of a woman’s life.
In 2019, I earned my Master of Science in Nursing with a focus as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati. I began practicing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 2020.
My background in both bedside nursing and advanced practice has given me a broad perspective on women’s healthcare. From caring for patients during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period to providing ongoing reproductive, hormonal, sexual, and preventive healthcare, I have had the privilege of supporting women through many different stages of life.
Outside of my professional role, family is a very important part of who I am. I have been married for more than 20 years, and together we have four children, two sons-in-law, and four precious grandchildren who proudly call me “Gigi.” Being a wife, mother, and grandmother has given me an even deeper appreciation for the many seasons women move through, and the importance of feeling supported along the way.
Over the years, I have seen how often women can feel rushed, dismissed, or uncertain about their symptoms and treatment options. Those experiences helped shape my vision for Empowher Health & Wellness.
I created Empowher to provide a more personal and collaborative healthcare experience—one where women have time to talk, ask questions, understand their options, and feel actively involved in decisions about their health.
For me, Empowher is the culmination of more than a decade of caring for women, both professionally and personally. My goal is to combine clinical experience with compassionate, evidence-based care while creating an environment where every woman feels comfortable, respected, and heard.
I want my patients to feel like they have a provider who truly listens, takes their concerns seriously, and works alongside them to help them feel their best.
